Business Development Executive

We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and ambitious go-getter to find new business opportunities by connecting and nurturing relationships with prospective customers. A person who is comfortable calling a set of provided contacts to qualify as leads for the Sales Team to continue the process with.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • The research and identification of potential prospects

  • Being part of the Internal Communications Community, to identify potential leads.

  • Initiate outbound telephone, email, and social contact with prospects.

  • Quickly identifying opportunities from with the lead database

  • Develop and qualify new business opportunities with key stakeholders

  • Booking demonstrations and sales meetings.

  • Following up and qualifying on inbound enquiries.

  • Performing research and intelligence gathering on prospects.

  • An understanding of customer needs and requirements.

  • Passing nurtured, qualified prospects to the sales team for closing.

  • Generating a need and ultimately an interest within the Internal Comms sector.

  • Maintaining and expanding the lead pipeline with prospects

  • Being a natural communicator with a decent level of technical ability

Success in this role will be measured by:

  • Generation of sales leads

  • New and successful relationships being made

  • Identifying business opportunities

  • Increased number of booked demos and leads generated

Experience Required:

  • 2 or more years as an Outbound Telephone Account Manager or an Inside Sales Representative 

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills

  • A good academic background ideally with a degree level qualification

  • Strong listening, presentation and communication skills

  • The ability to prioritise effectively and work independently

  • Strong organisational skills, being able to prioritise and manage time effectively

  • Experience of developing high value leads over the telephone and email

  • Knowledge of the sales process

  • Familiarity with logging activity in a CRM system

Salary Band – £25-30k + commission
