Invotra's Andrew Doyle wins Apprentice of the Year

Andrew Doyle apprentice of the year award

Woking-based SaaS company wins at SME Surrey Business Awards

Woking-based intranet software company Invotra is delighted to announce that apprentice Andrew Doyle won the “Apprentice of the Year” category at the 2016 SME Surrey Business Awards.

These awards recognise the contribution of apprentices, both in their commitment to their own learning and to the wider business.
Andrew’s dedication to furthering his own knowledge, including his work with an expert independent W3C consultant, has contributed significantly to the accessibility of Invotra’s SaaS intranet software.
Winning this award is another example of how Invotra delivers award-winning apprenticeships, and is continuing to invest in apprenticeships to boost the economy.

Andrew Doyle, Apprentice of the Year:

I’m really pleased to have won this award and I’m grateful for the opportunity that Invotra has provided. I’ve been included in so many areas of the company; I’ve been communicating with our customers, I’ve been responsible for requirements for large projects and I’m actually leading the web accessibility for our products. Invotra has put their trust in me to really get involved with their business and that means a lot. I’d recommend others to look into apprenticeships as a real alternative to start their career!

Fintan Galvin, CEO and Founder, Invotra:

“We’re delighted that Andrew’s contribution has been recognised by this award. Andrew is one example of our many successful and high achieving apprentices although his specialist knowledge and expertise he has grown for himself is why we nominated him as our Apprentice of the Year.
Invotra has, from the beginning, believed in investing time and money into a successful apprentice programme. Andrew’s worth to the company far outweighs the investment we have made in him. The company has grown quickly over the last few years and in this time our confidence in our product has grown, as has the scope of our product and number of customers we have.

We have been able to replace outsourced technical capabilities with our own trained and developed in house apprentices here in the UK.
Andrew’s expertise has had a lasting impact on the product and service we provide. With Andrew’s input into our product team and work alongside an expert independent W3C consultant, we have made some significant enhancements to the accessibility of our product, with a considerable advantage against competitors much larger than ourselves.”

Alison Galvin, HR Director:

“Apprenticeships are at the very heart of our business – more than a third of employees are current or former apprentices!
At Invotra we select all of our apprentices based on their work ethic, attitude and desire to learn and Andrew clearly demonstrated all of these characteristics from the very beginning. He confidently established his own role in the business and quickly became an invaluable member of our team.
Having young, enthusiastic, energetic and driven individuals like Andrew, that know exactly how things are done is driving a culture that we couldn’t have predicted and we’re looking forward to continuing to support his professional development within our team.”

Billy Clackers: Product Manager and former Invotra apprentice:

“As a former Invotra apprentice, I’m really proud that a member of my team has been recognised by this award. Andrew’s expertise continues to impress us all – in a short space of time, he’s become an expert on accessibility and we’re continuing to learn from him every day!”
