Can you tell us about your role and responsibilities at Invotra?
I proactively support our customers with any of their technical needs. This can include subjects such as integrations, analytics and search configuration.
How did your journey begin at Invotra?
I signed up with an apprenticeship agency, who then suggested Invotra as an opportunity. I went for an interview and was offered a place undertaking a software development apprenticeship. I started out in the DevOps team but after a couple of years, I naturally progressed towards technical account management, which I really enjoy.
What is important to you when it comes to working culture?
What’s really important to me is having an open community where everyone can freely contribute to different parts of the business. I feel comfortable putting forward my opinion, even in areas that aren’t necessarily my speciality.
Tell us about a project that you’re working on…
I’m currently working towards migrating one our large customers onto our new AWS infrastructure.
What is one surprising/interesting fact that people don’t know about you?
I once sailed from Bermuda to Boston with a group of young people, volunteering my time to give them a life-changing and extremely rewarding experience.
Name one career goal that you would like to achieve in the coming year…
I would like to further develop my technical knowledge so that I can better drive further technical changes for our customers.
Is there anyone in particular, living or dead, that has inspired you throughout your career progression?
One of my cousins. This is because he works in a similar industry and he’s really applied himself. I admire the fact that a lot of his technical knowledge is self-taught.
