60 Seconds with our Technical Services Manager, Nqobile
‘My role entails keeping hundreds of thousands of users happy with our product and service by delivering an enterprise infrastructure’
Can you tell us about your role and responsibilities at Invotra?
I’m in charge of keeping the live service up and running to an excellent standard at all times. We are able to achieve this by constantly evolving and improving our monitoring capabilities. This allows us to optimise the Invotra platform.
How did your journey begin at Invotra?
Following sixth form and a few months at university studying computing, I decided that I wanted to seek an apprenticeship. This led me to Invotra where I began my technical journey as a software developer apprentice. Following this, my capabilities were better suited to the systems administrator role within technical services. I have now been with Invotra for 7 years.
What is important to you when it comes to working culture?
I like that everyone within our company is aligned. We excel when it comes to internal communication which enables efficiency and increases productivity.
Tell us about a project that you’re working on…
I’m continuously working hard to reduce the manual touch time when it comes to our releases for the Development and Quality Assurance Invotra teams.
What is one surprising/interesting fact that people don’t know about you?
When I was at school, we used to have massive dance-offs to support charities. I was always the winner. I’ve got some secretly awesome moves.
Name one career goal that you would like to achieve in the coming year…
I want to gain a qualification in Cyber Security.
Is there anyone in particular, living or dead, that has inspired you throughout your career progression?
My uncle. He had a vested interest in physics which led him to head a Dunlop tyres franchise. I admired his commitment to discovering new solutions and contributing them to his profession.
