Release date: 06th November 2019
We have released a total of 5 tasks, including 3 improvements, 1 fix and 1 incident.
This release was entirely focused on upgrading PHP to version 7.3.
Invotra is currently built on PHP version 7.1, however, this version will reach its end of life on the 1st December 2019.
An “end of life” version/release means: “A release that is no longer supported. Users of this release should upgrade as soon as possible, as they may be exposed to unpatched security vulnerabilities”.
In 4.42, we are upgrading the Invotra product to be running on the latest available version of PHP – which is PHP 7.3 and will benefit from security support until the 6th December 2021.
This upgrade is critical to your system, without it you could be left exposed to unpatched security vulnerabilities. If these vulnerabilities are exploited it could lead to malicious parties gaining unauthorised access to your information, or being able to cause disruptions in your intranet’s behaviour.
We updated:
21 Drupal contrib modules
28 custom modules (to date, but we are now regression testing fully, further updates are expected)
Through our regular release cycle, Invotra’s intranet software is always evolving.
From accessibility to UI, security to enhanced social networking, our team are continually looking for ways to improve our intranet platform.
Built on Drupal, our open source intranet software enables evolution – get in touch today!
